Pretzel Crisps and Komen for the Cure

I have a GREAT cause to talk to you about today! I think all us can think of someone (or maybe even yourself) that has fought or been affected by breast cancer. It is so sad but true - but according to the American Cancer Society, breast cancer is estimated to affect over 230,000 new women and more than 2,000 new men in the U.S. this year alone (2011).

Today I am excited to share that one of my favorite snack brands, Pretzel Crisps, has recently partnered up with the Susan G. Komen foundation to fight the fight against breast cancer! Read on to learn more about each company and how they are working together!

Komen Race for the Cure began when Nancy G. Brinker promised her dying sister, Susan G. Komen, she would do everything in her power to end breast cancer forever. In 1982, that promise became Susan G. Komen for the Cure and launched the global breast cancer movement. Today, Komen for the Cure is the world’s largest grassroots network of breast cancer survivors and activists fighting to save lives, empower people, ensure quality care for all and energize science to find the cures. Thanks to events like the Komen Race for the Cure®, they have invested more than $1.5 billion to fulfill her promise, becoming the largest source of nonprofit funds dedicated to the fight against breast cancer in the world. For more information about Susan G. Komen for the Cure, breast health or breast cancer, visit or call 1-877 GO KOMEN.

For over 25 years, Komen for the Cure has been the global leader of the breast cancer movement, having invested more than $1.9 billion since inception. Through the generosity and donations of individuals and companies across the country and throughout the world, Komen has been able to continue its fight against breast cancer and towards finding a cure.

One of my favorite brands of snacks has partnered with them to fight breast cancer! The world’s first spreadable pretzel crackers, Snack Factory’s Pretzel Crisps® are exceptionally thin, flat-baked pretzel crackers made without any trans fats, saturated fat or cholesterol. With only 110 calories per serving, the original Deli Style line is a tasty, better-for-you snack option as compared to traditional salty snack foods.

The OU kosher-certified pretzel crackers are great alone and are perfect for dipping or pairing with meats and cheeses. With passionate fans around the country, it’s clear Pretzel Crisps have snackers in the bag.

This year, Pretzel Crisps®, the low fat, low calorie flat-baked pretzel cracker, is proud to join the fight and help donate to the cause. For every specially marked 14 ounce Pretzel Crisps® bag sold from August through October 2011, Snack Factory will donate a portion of the proceeds, with a minimum of $100,000, to Komen.

If you want to join in the fight, then make sure to find additional ways to donate to the organization and learn how to get involved in events and races in their community by logging onto

Also, don't forget a really easy way to help - Just purchase specially marked Pretzel Crisps® bags from the deli section of your local supermarket to join the fight!

Who do you know that has had breast cancer? Have you ever been involved in Komen for the Cure to help find a cure for Breast Cancer?
