NetGenie Wi-Fi Router Review and Giveaway

With kids and teens doing more and more of their Internet browsing on smartphones and tablets like the iPad, a software-based approach to monitoring and blocking Internet access to adult content or age-inappropriate websites will no longer work.

Enter NetGenie, a Wi-Fi router for the home that plugs directly into the cable modem and which also offers security protection from invasive malware and viruses.

Developed by 12-year Internet security veteran Cyberoam, NetGenie is the first Wi-Fi router that comes pre-configured with parental controls and anti-virus.

NetGenie parental controls provide default settings according to age group, blocking websites and applications deemed inappropriate, yet allowing the administrator (mom or dad) to grant permissions by adding to a whitelist of allowed sites.

NetGenie offers parents a smart way for dealing with unruly Internet access and distractions, especially during homework time. Being a Wi-Fi router that plugs directly into the home’s cable modem, the device can control access to smartphones , gaming consoles and popular tablets such as the iPad and Android tablets.

Any device connected to the home’s Wi-Fi signal can be managed.

NetGenie is also equipped with Internet security safeguards including a firewall, anti-virus protection, and intrusion prevention.

Additionally, the device can generate reports on Internet activities such as websites visited, applications used, attempts made to visit blocked websites or applications, along with virus and intrusion reports.

NetGenie can be configured using any Internet-access device in the home. Settings for individual members of the family can be made.

My Opinion
There is some scary people and some scary threats out there in the cyberworld these days. It really scares me sometimes to raise children in this day and age!

That is why I am always on the lookout for products that can help all of us protect and defend our family and children against predators, threats, and inappropriate material!

My latest favorite product that can help us protect our family is the NetGenie Wi-Fi router!

It not only works as a GREAT Wi-Fi router, but it has so many great features that protect your family and children as they surf the net! (and we all know how much I love products that have multiple uses and purposes!!)

My favorite feature is that, with the NetGenie, you can set different settings for different children for different times during the day! For example, parents can suspend Internet access per individual for an allocated date or block of time, say from 7:00 pm to 10:00 pm Monday through Thursday, allowing free access Friday to Sunday if they so choose to.

You can also ensure that your kids do not access Facebook, chat and other Internet content before they reach the appropriate age. Setting up parental controls is a breeze with NetGenie. You just simply slide over from one age-group to the other in the NetGenie GUI to create the level of Internet access you want to give to your kids.

No more worrying yourself about those mid-night gaming or endless surfing and chat sessions!

Best of all NetGenie is super easy to install and just plugs directly into the cable modem!

I recommend the NetGenie Wi-Fi router for all families with children! You will never worry about what sites your children are on or what they are doing on the computer instead of "working on homework". Plus, it protects from viruses and malware and is super easy to install and operate!

Buy It: NetGenie retails for $199 (reflects a 3-year subscription for anti-virus signatures and parental controls updates) with support for an unlimited number of home users. A SOHO version is also available for $249. See how to buy on the NetGenie website.

Win It: Cyberoam is generously offering (1) NetGenie Wi-Fi router to a lucky winner!

Great host of unique features ..like inbuilt Anti-Virus , IPS , Firewall - Corporate Level of Security for my Home network ..& that too at such a reasonable price . I use to pay ridiculous amount for software subscription on parental control , security features ( anti-virus , firewall , IPS ) & this just cost 66 dollar per annum for all my gadgets ( imagine a cost for securing my laptop , shared computer , my children’s ipad , my wife’s laptop , and 3 mobiles ) And that too software are easy to temper but i am quite happy with the ease of using a parental control and now i have no worries for my family’s ( especially children’s ) safety on internet world ..Must buy for this Christmas !! I have already started sharing the news of this “Internet Safety Device” to concern parents in my network !!
