Kids in College

Thanks to Olga Quinn

With two kids going off to college in the next two years, my husband and I are a little stressed about finances. We obviously have college funds for the kids that we started when they were much younger, but we just aren’t sure how far they’re going to stretch these days. We’re hopeful both children will receive at least partial academic scholarships, but that still leaves a lot of things we’ll have to pay for—room and board alone is astronomical. We’re trying to save money every way we can, but it’s important to us that we don’t alarm the kids. We don’t ever want them to feel like they’re forcing us to make sacrifices that we don’t want to. For that reason, we’re being quiet about our money saving crusade. We clip coupons but we don’t make a big deal about it, and we are trying to go about our lives as we usually would. We did actually find one super easy way to save a little money that the kids don’t even know about—we changed our energy providers! If you’re thinking that sounds easy, it’s because it is. You can shop electricity rates texas and then select the best provider for your situation. Such an easy way to save a little money every month!
