Happy World Breastfeeding Week and Big Latch On 2012!
I am so excited to be nursing this year during World Breastfeeding Week and the Big Latch On 2012 so that I can be part of the celebration! I am so excited to feature some great companies in the next two days in honor of the Big Latch On that have made nursing easier for me as a mother so that I can help you nurse your children as long as possible!
Although I have had some trouble exclusively nursing my children, I have always nursed them as much as possible because I know how important it is! I am so glad that the whole world is realizing how important breastfeeding is and how amazing God has made breastmilk to be for children!
But there is no doubt in my mind that breastfeeding is HARD!!! Although it is a natural thing for our bodies, it is very hard on mothers emotionally, physically and mentally! It can especially be hard to nurse in public these days with the stigma behind breastfeeding in public in our society. I have always dreaded going out with my children when I am nursing because I have enough trouble to begin with. When you add people all around, nervousness and a hungry baby, it makes for a hard nursing experience. I have made it hard on myself the last couple of years because I always tried to nurse using a blanket to cover. I spent more time adjusting the blanket, making sure my child didn't rip it off while nursing, or making sure it was covering all my skin...I don't know why I didn't get a nursing cover earlier! I might have gone out in public more often!!
So which cover has changed my perspective on nursing in public?? That would be the Bebe au Lait Sevilla Nursing Cover!!
Bebe au Lait’s award-winning nursing covers combine elegant style and everyday function. So when have I used my nursing cover lately? The question is...Where HAVEN'T I used it lately??? :)
Just in the last week, I have used it at church, at our garage sale, and in the presence of family members who visited! I feel SO MUCH MORE relaxed now when nursing in public and at church and I don't have to rush to a private area or schedule leaving the house around her nursing times!
This cover is so easy to carry around with me - it just fits so nicely in my purse or diaper bag so it is always handy whenever my daughter gets hungry!
I LOVE the material of this cover. It is super soft, breathable and comfortable for both me and my daughter to use! At our garage sale, it was 90+ degrees outside and since the cover is so lightweight and breathable, I barely felt like I was using it and it didn't add any extra heat to the already hot day!
Best of all, Bebe au Lait always thinks of the extra things and adds the terrycloth pocket that you can use for wiping and storing!
I also REALLY, REALLY LOVE the stiff neckline! The biggest thing I hated about using a blanket is that I couldn't see my baby and she couldn't see me! I couldn't see if she was attached and I couldn't make eye contact (one of my favorite things about nursing!) With this awesome nursing cover, the rigid neckline lets me see my baby and my baby see me and I can nurse easily and efficiently!
My favorite part of all is the generous size! I like to be covered up...my tummy, sides, and chest and this cover is big enough to cover it all so I don't even have to worry about wearing nursing clothing anymore because this cover covers it all!! I love that!!
So if you are looking to nurse more comfortably in public, I definitely recommend the Bebe au Lait nursing cover! They really have thought of it all with this cover and the patterns available are really fun and cute too!
