Book Review: On Distant Shores

A book was given for review for my honest opinion. No other compensation was given.

About On Distant Shores:
Caught between the war raging around them and the battles within, two souls long for peace---and a love that remains true.

Lt. Georgiana Taylor has everything she could want. A boyfriend back home, a loving family, and a challenging job as a flight nurse. But in July 1943, Georgie's cozy life gets more complicated when she meets pharmacist Sgt. John Hutchinson.

Hutch resents the lack of respect he gets as a noncommissioned serviceman and hates how the war keeps him from his fiancée. While Georgie and Hutch share a love of the starry night skies over Sicily, their lives back home are falling apart. Can they weather the hurt and betrayal? Or will the pressures of war destroy the fragile connection they've made?

With her signature attention to detail and her talent for bringing characters together, Sarah Sundin weaves an exciting tale of emotion, action, and romance that will leave you wanting more.

My Opinion
I reviewed the 1st book in the Wings of the Nightingale series, With Every Letter, and I was super excited to read the second book, On Distant Shores. It was just as great as With Every Letter and I LOVE that the author rewinds a tad bit at the beginning to give us Georgie's take on every thing that happened in With Every Letter.

This book is filled with twists and turns and unexpected events...but, most importantly, it is filled with reminders that we cannot control what happens in our lives but we CAN control how we deal with them. We can either turn bitter and hate the world or we can stay positive and always look on the positive side of things like Jesus would do!

This book was so well written, filled with romance and WWII history and had great reminders for my life around every corner! I couldn't put it down until the last page was turned!
